Please excuse the dust…
I am about to make some major changes to our blog and website. I gave you a heads up in my post Please Be Patient. Well, the changes are about to happen and I’m pretty excited!
I’ve been running the Wordpress blog and the new site on a test server. So far I have had no issues and everything is looking pretty good. I am about to throw the switch and shift over to the new version. If the blog resends old posts I apologize (it didn’t during my test run).
We would have been finished earlier but a couple things got in the way.
First, I played in a major racquetball tournament. This took a lot of my time to get ready. Since I went almost all the way (third!) the actual tournament took a lot of my time as well.
Second, I was playing with the newest version of XSitePro. It wasn’t the learning curve, it was me trying out all the new features. That alone is worthy of a post, and I’ll tell you more when I finish my review of the software.
What’s new:
- Shifted to Wordpress blogging platform allowing for much better integration with the website and more functionality.
- Added site search
- Much more professional site design.
- Blog and website design now match and have a consistent theme.
- Integrating blog feeds into our front page. Now you won’t have to search the web for applicable information.
- Shifted our focus a bit.
We still have some changes to make:
- Integrating news feeds into our front page. This way you can go to one place for the news you need.
- Daily news updates via RSS and email. We will bring the news to you!
- Add financial/business tools and forms.
